I sat down to edit some photos today and thought what could I put on for some music. Phil Ochs’ The War is Over: The Best of Phil Ochs began playing randomly, so I thought why not. I opened iTunes and told it to stop on Ochs and hold til further notice.
It’s been 2 hours of Phil and his penmanship. I don’t think I’ve ever really listened to his work before today. Wow. My dad would be so ashamed, as he used to (and most likely still does) play Phil on the turntable when I was younger.
It’s amazing how much the music you listened to just because your parents exposed it to you comes full circle and eventually kicks you in the head and wakes you up from a musical nap.
So here I end my photo work day with a great songwriter.
